I am working to customize my M&P 9mm. I've stippled frames in the past (using a simple $10 WalMart soldering iron) and sometimes they are a bit too aggressive and wear on my hands during training sessions.

I just finished this frame and I like it soo much! It's not too aggressive, but the grip has definitely improved.

What are your thoughts on stippling?

Looks really good. I wouldn't have the stones or the patience to even try that on one of my guns.

I stippled one, turned out pretty nice. Next one I put Talon rubberized tape on,, liked it better..
Plus rubberized grip is much nicer on clothes and body if you're planning on carrying..

I had David Bowie do my M&P 45

And I plan to have him do my other two as well over the winter

His approach gives a much improved grip but is not overly abrasive.

I did it to my shield. Love the way it feels. I did it to my taurus too but the frame material is different because it didn't take to well. No biggie though. Just covered it with grip tape.
