1905 Hand Ejector Help

I'm about to purchase this firearm and hope I can get some insight on whether it appears correct and whether it is worth the asking price.

Bore is reported as bright and shiny and cylinder as tight.

After shipping and fees I would be paying about $525.

Looks OK and correct. Opinions will vary as to price. I'd say $525 is about as high as you would want to go. Not a steal but not too bad.

Looks pretty good for an early 1920's M&P. I agree with alwslate.

I just paid $400 for a 1905 HE 5th change with no blueing left on it. Insides are clean as a whistle and it shoots as well as I can do my part. I think it was born around 1910-17. Only difference is mine's round butt. You won't regret paying $525 IMO, unless a car payment is due! Looks pretty good. Stocks look the same, too, except for the square bottom. That's all I know! If you want it, buy it! If it can drive nails like mine, you'll love it!

Very nice shooter, but one has to remember that about 300,000 of these revolvers were made in the 1920s alone. I would say $400+ is more reasonable. That revolver was called a 38 Military & Police, or 4th Change by collectors, by the mid teens, dropping the year moniker. The company differentiated the two butt-frames by adding "square butt" or round butt".

Your revolver was manufactured in a very narrow time-frame. The convex service stocks (top rounded outward) started around 1920 and the lack of the MADE IN USA frame stamp says it likely was manufactured no later than mid-1922.

Just a couple of examples that recently sold on GB shows the price many 4" M&Ps sold at auctions. The 1910s gun sold for $426 and the 1930s M&P sold for $376.
