Three old guys

[5-Shot]

Three old guys went went shooting yesterday. My recently acquired 28-2 and my long time companion 34-1 accompanied me (the third old guy) to the local indoor range. As John Denver once proclaimed, "Some days are diamonds, some days are stones." Yesterday was one of those diamond days. Attached is a target containing two consecutive 5 shot groups (notice my board name) I fired with the .22 and .357, off hand at 25 yards. Those days don't come around all that often and I had to share.

Nice shooting. My off-hand accuracy/consistency with N-frames leaves a lot to be desired.

Ed, That's some fine shooting at 25 yards, for any age. Anyone one that doubts this should march out to the 25 yard line and post a target, mosey on back to the firing line and let em fly while standing on their hind legs. Of coarse they had better have a quality firearm such as your two, if they hope to do as well.

Instead of calling your thread “Three old guys” you should have called it “Three Old Friends.” Good shooting with two very fine revolvers.

On a bad day for me, I would have to call it the 3 Stooges! Just so happens I was at the range Sunday, and my 28 no dash was constantly hitting steel targets at 25yds! My new Old Model Blackhawk, the same. My 65-3,3" wasn't in the cards that day! Bob

I understand why everyone uses the two-handed grp when shooting as it does generally produce better results. However, I've always liked the discipline of traditional target shooting. Your on target results with both your revolvers are very good. Anyone would be pleased with such results. Sincerely. brucev.

Brucev, back in the days when I shot seriously, I shot a lot of traditional one handed NRA style. At that time, there was absolutely no difference between my results with one or two hands. Sadly, the same can't be said today. Wonder if I could relearn one handed shooting? I might just try.
