Thumbpiece nut for I-frame Terrier

I was shooting my post-war I-frame Terrier (shipped 1950) when the thumbpiece fell off. I was able to recover the thumbpiece, but the nut was lost. I tried a similar vintage K-frame nut and the thread was OK, but the nut protruded above the thumbpiece.

I called S&W, but they said they had no I-frame parts.

Any suggestions?

Try Gun Parts international, (Numrich). Possibly also Jim Horvath at [email protected] I doubt Brownells has any, but worth a call.
