Thunder Ranch 325

I just purchased a used Thunder Ranch 325 yesterday! I have not be able to take it to the Range yet, but I cant wait. I am trying to locate a holster for it, and ideas?

The Milt Sparks PMK is a really nice belt holster for concealment under a cover garment. For field use, I like the Simply Rugged "sourdough" pancake for my N-frames. Lobo Gunleather is also a great option -- a lot of members here seem to like his work.

I could be wrong, but I recall reading that TK and the crew at Milt Sparks do not have a 325 TR blue gun to make the holster with.

Safariland holster

I have been using a Model 567 Custom Fit Holster for mine and leave the light rail on all the time. I use this for IDPA matches and has been working just fine...

well, I just had to take my "new" used 325 back to the gun store. I took it out for the first time on Saturday and had several bullets that would not fire. The primers looked like they had hardy been hit by the firing pin. Some of them would work when they were run back through, but some still would not fire.
So I took it back this morning, and they tried it. Worked fine with American Eagle bullets, but my reloads still failed to fire two rounds. I had the same problem out of two different boxes of reloads. I have been shooting the same reloads out of my 1911 with absolutely no problems.
Hopefully Smith & Wesson will fix the problem and get the gun back to me soon.

Been trying to talk myself into over looking the two piece barrel and infernal lock to try one of these as a carry gun. When I saw the topic of this thread and that the OP had just bought a used one I was looking forward to hearing about it.

With the first news being that he has mis-fires with reloads I'm back to ground zero trying to talk myself into the idea again. Dang!

Defilade, this is a known issue with newer S&W revolvers. My 325TR went back for the same reason.

Mine fits nicely in a Simply Rugged holster.

My 325tr ate everything I've thrown at it including a couple of big bags of reloads... it's a fabulous gun!! No regrets, in fact liked it so much I had to buy a Nightguard 386 scad frame..

After doing a lot of reading about the primer issue yesterday, I see that this must be a common problem. You would think that if you spent that kind of money, the gun would shoot.

Anyway the Store I bought the gun from called me back and said that they did not want to send the gun back because they said that Smith would say nothing was wrong with the gun. The gun was a consignment gun and so they gave me my money back.

Now I just have to decide whether or not to spend money on a PC 625 and then have to put more money into the gun to "fix" a new gun that wont shoot. Hopefully if I get a different gun I wont have that problem.

IF you really like the 325, why not put in a new firing pin? There are aftermarket suppliers that will sell a longer firing pin.
