For those in Central Pa Campbells Sporting Goods in Hollidaysburg Pa had a stack of Remington Thunderbolts on the counter today. Only (sarcasm) $39.00 a brick. Just a heads up for those who can get along with the stuff!

That's expensive. Here its averaging under $20 a brick.

I have 500 rounds of that **** left. Now, whenever I shoot the .22, that's what I shoot. it works. it's dirty as hell, though. I've had them or 20 years and just wanna get rid if them.

Midway lets you back order.
Some comming in the middle of the month and the end of the month.
Im getting 3330 wwb.
Shipping sucks

I think the case diameter or rim thickness runs large. Only ammo that wants to bind the cylinder of my 63. OTOH, it goes bang and the accuracy is acceptable. Normally wouldn't buy it but got 4 boxes recently at 2.19 each. Conserving my stash of good stuff till the shortage eases.

I know what you mean! About three months ago I gave away a carton and a half of the 525 Golden ammo just to get shed of it. Told my friend if he takes it I don't want to hear about it!

Good for all of you who can find ammo. Around here, .22 LR ammo must be made of unobtanium b/c no one seems to be able to get it.

On black Friday I did find one brick of CCI Standard Velocity Target .22 LR ammo... at a gun shop 146 miles away. They were only going to sell me 100 rds. at $14.11/100rds. I turned it down. Happily the owner walked over and asked what I was looking for. A few minutes later he bought the brick out and had them ring it up at $29.99. I'd been doing business with them for over 20 years. That is the first brick of .22 LR ammo I've seen in a long time.

I bought four bricks last April for 21.99/ brick they leaded up my barrel something awfull, when they were gone I was happy, happy, happy.

Those Thunderbolts and the Golden bullets are the two worse
types of .22lr i have ever shot. Thunderbolts are dirty, Gold
bullet won't fire or function alot of times. Pure junk.
Over priced at any cost. Remington does make some decent
.22lr but i'll not be buying either of these two brands.

A buddy of mine found some Rem Thunderbolt at a big box store, I think Academy, for a real good price. He gave me 20-30 rounds to shoot. It was not very accurate and leaded my barrel something awful. It is a match grade barrel and does not lead, but it did with Thunderbolt. It leaded the barrels of two of his 22s. I think he ended up taking it to a gunshow and selling it to a dealer for twice what he paid.

That stuff is awful. Thankfully, I have enough good stuff I don't need to shoot TB. It is much worse than some ultra cheap Mexican 22RF I got a couple years ago.

Re: Thunderbolts and leading. When did this start? I've fired umpteen thousands of .22 LR Thunderbolts out of my S&W 18-3 and my Ruger 77-22. No the Thunderbolts don't shoot like Eley ammo, but it is not minute of barn. I've shot a lot of it in my 77-22 and never had a problem. I've not noticed it being any more dirty than other common popularly priced .22 LR ammo.

I could not agree with you more and Remington should be ashamed of what they are producing. I won't buy Thunderbolts or GB's no matter what the price! I know the other brands are more expensive, but at least you can go to the Range and shoot without ammo issues.

Federal & CCI is great, and Winchester is acceptable.

I do buy what I can when I can, but thankfully I stocked up before all this madness.

A year ago I picked up 50 boxes of thunderbolts for $1.99 ea and have experienced the same problem with bad leading but with the current shortage I guess beggers can't be choosers. I cured the leading problem some by using a gun cleaner with teflon in it. The barrel on my Single Six cleans now with a dozen patches instead of a few dozen.

$30/brick at one of my LGS's.

I don't consider that out of line, considering the increase in ammo prices everywhere.
