Not long ago we decided to dust off the 70's era components stereo; receiver, turntable, cassette deck, the Bose 301s, etc. I never really had a good compact disc player as they came along a little later and I relied on another system for their playback.
C.D.'s are making a "comeback" like vinyl years ago and we've plenty enough of them to justify a component player. So I did my due diligence and found a remarkably inexpensive model getting rave reviews sourced from Shenzhen Audio in Shenzhen, China. I do my very best NOT to buy Chinese but occasionally can't hardly pass up a great deal.
Ordered via Amazon on January 14, of this year. As for as could be determined all U.S. sellers pass the order on to Shenzhen and do not stock the item so it comes from China upon order. They said to expect a month in transit.
So about five weeks later I get curious and submit for a tracking. They said it had been delivered....in Finland. Long way from Central Texas. It may explain why Finns are the happiest people in a recent poll - they routinely receive stuff ordered by someone else.
They said they'd make it right by either refunding or reordering - and I was dealing directly with Shenzhen by then. What the heck. I reordered on March 9. By the way, they admitted my order, along with some others was lost before it left their factory. Finland? Your guess is as good as mine.
At any rate it went Yun Express from the PRC. Been tracking it through L.A. and then Grand Prairie, TX where it resided for what seemed a sufficient time to be lost again. It went to USPS and I got it today. Patience sometimes pays!
