Time to buy a laser?

The "good" aiming lasers and targeting devices aren't sold commercially. Their power levels put them under government regulation. Curiously it isn't the ATF or DoD or any of the usual suspects that regulates them. It is the FDA of all people.

The standard shorthand anecdote that goes around is that you can cook an egg in the shell from a half mile away. Don't know the veracity of such, haven't seen it done.

Anyway, 50 bucks is 50 bucks, so if it makes the price point more attractive, then sure, a set of CT grips can be a nice accessory.

My .02 pennys worth

Seems to me that the laser would be proof for everyone to see that you did in fact point a gun at & threaten someone. Looks like a chance for the thing to get you into trouble rather than out.

For a protection gun, it's use should become automatic, thus if one of your guns has laser sights & not all, you are adding a posible confusing point to come up at a time of crisis.

Most states ban the use of artifical light for hunting.

At night, the light will pinpoint your location as well as your target.

PS; I'm not a fan of this type of crutch to hitting what you're aiming at. For me, I'll spend my time learning to shoot the old fashoned way.

.Dr. Evil: Any ways, the key to this plan is the giant laser. It was invented by the noted Cambridge physicist Dr. Parsons. Therefore, we shall call it the Alan Parsons Project.
Scott: Oh, my God.
Dr. Evil: What now?
Scott: The Alan Parsons Project is a progressive rock band in 1982. Why don't you just name it 'Operation Wang-Chung'? ***.
Dr. Evil: I'm sorry, i don't...
Scott: Oh nothing. I'm sure 'Operation Bananarama' will be huge.

Sorry-couldn't resist;)

Being the serious guy that I am... seriously, I highly recommend the laser, especially for a nightstand handgun. The laser is also useful for learning to "point-shoot", which is what one would be doing when the "stuff" hits the fan. With the gun unloaded, practice point-shooting without pressing the laser button by aiming at the wall across the room, then activate the laser by pressing the button to see where the round would have hit. Continue to practice repeatedly until the laser is close enough to where you are aiming.

I really like the CT laser and I have them on 4 of my revolvers and one kimber .45.

The neat thing is you can hold the gun on your belly and shoot DA
and get great results.

$50 bucks is a nice discount and I plan to buy another ,just trying to decide which gun gets it and do I want round or square butt.

here`s a target from the waist at 15 to 20 feet D/A 629 .44 mag 3 inch barrel hard to argue with results like this, just follow the little red dot.

can't believe you guys...

i have a crimson trace on my model 60 and i can hit like a long barreled target gun w/it, and that is from the hip.

i'm an old fart, but some of this new stuff really works!:)

Time to buy one?

Well - They are getting smaller than the one that Auric Goldfinger had but they don't work as well (yet).
A friend bought one and put it on his pistol, but the darned thing wouldn't even cut a chair in half, let alone a table with a guy on it -- So he took it back.

Bottom line - I'd wait. The stuff out there now just isn't what they would have you think.

I'll get one but not until it sounds like the one fired from a Star Wars Tie Fighter.

Do they come in Imperial green and Rebel Alliance red?

Sure, they're cool...but I just can't seem to give up my old school wood and t-grip...
