Time to recheck gasoline prices...

$3.39 - $3.59 around us now. Yes, prices definitely are back up recently.

We are at the tail end of the holiday high demand and weather has closed/limited some refinery functions.
That may have put pressure on prices from both the demand and production sides, but hopefully it won't last.

Any excuse to raise prices. :(

Here in Colorado it's not just the rising price of gas. It's ski season and these diehard skiers are willing to blow a couple hundred bucks just getting up and back.

Maybe instead of gas gauges vehicles should have a meter like taxis have that would show how much money you're spending.

Used to keep a notepad in the console to record gallons, mileage and cost when I bought gas. Never truly did commit to keeping it up.

Get rid of the .9 at the pump and standardize the Fed and State tax across the board.

Govt at all levels enacts a tax for a specific purpose and then puts that money into the general fund for their pet projects instead of where it was intended to go.

And this was predicted before the November elections. Prices to start climbing back up after dumping some reserves in the market and some other imports. In North Central KS I purchased some today for 2.72.

We've jumped $.60 since Christmas. Easily explained: during the summer our benevolent overlords in Springfield suspended last year's automatic gas tax increase until after the elections. On the first they reimposed it and added this year's increase. They need the money to defend the indefensible SAFE-T Act.

Here in my extremely remote location, access is by snowmobile only. The local gas pump is now at $6.99 per gallon for the 91 octane non-ethanol fuel required for these danged high-performance sleds. With some forethought, I bought into 500 gallons with a couple other locals before the season at $4.40 per gallon.

Looks like those gas prices are taking off like a Saturn rocket.:eek:

Glad to hear that inflation is down, sure helps filling the tank.

I usually get about a months driving on a tank of gas. Last time I got gas it was $2.58.9/gal. That was about 3 weeks ago.

The Exxon I go to is now at $3.38.9/gal. for regular. That's an increase of 80cents for those that are challenged.

Have to say that there are still stations in the area at low $3. I would egg the place but can't afford the eggs.

Egg which place?

Prices are still falling slowly in Vegas. The gas price website shows $3.36 as the cheapest regular with diesel down to $4.19. Darn, I paid $4.35 for diesel last week.

We are at $3.049 here in SW Iowa. Hy Vee has been running a nice promotional for a couple of years now. They give "x" cents a gallon off for purchasing certain items and have partnered with Casey's to use the benefit. I'll get at least $1.33 off a gallon with my next fill up. The discount is good for 30 days from purchase and you can get up to 20 gallons per fill-up. Works for me as my car only has a 16 gallon tank. The only downside is I go about 45 days between fill-ups.

Got gas today 3.49.
