Here are mine: Models 28-2, 57-1, 624, and 625-2. I have another 28-2 also, but it is at S&W getting re-finished and having a red ramp insert installed on the front sight.
Here is my 27-2 that I special ordered in '72. I couldn't make my mind upon what kind of grips I wanted because the dealer did not have any target grips to show me so I ordered it with service and target grips. Consequently both sets of grips are numbered. I suppose that is kind of rare.
Cool history about the gun, I ordered in in '72, needed money in '75, so I sold it to a friend and co-worker for $165.00. I always thought back on the sale with regrets because I had only put about 24 rounds through it. In 1992 my friend passed away and his wife agreed to sell it back to me. When I went to pick up the gun from her I asked her how much she would like to sell it for and she said that she had found the receipt from when I sold it to her husband and that the same $165.00 would be just fine. Not wanting to take advantage of a widow I offered her substantially more but she would not accept it. After the price issue was settled she left the room to retrieve the gun. As you can imagine the anticipated condition crossed my mind. Would the blueing be worn, would it have rust, would it be all scratched up, would both sets of grips still be with it? When she handed it to me I looked it over in amazement. It was in the same condition as the day I sold it 20 years earlier. I said "it doesn't look as if Dick shot her much!" Her response was: "he never shot it even once, I don't know why he kept it! Needless to say it has returned home and won't leave again.
