Time to Show those Pintos

I just purchased this Kit Gun. It was presented to the Chief of Police in Springfield, Ma. It was given to Chief Raymond Gallagher by S&W President Carl Hellstrom.

That's a beauty.

Updating the thread for my three Rentzschke engraved 357's in their custom Glenn Dean case. Each of the three shipped in 1959 to Oshmans in Houston, TX. One is a 5-screw (S150576), one is a 4-screw, but not model marked (S186815) and one is a 4-screw marked Mod 27 (S186811). S186811 is new to the RKmesa herd since my last posting in this thread.

Here they are on their gold boxes along with a few detailed comparative shots with the good camera...

Hopefully there are a few more pintos that can be added to this thread - please...:D:D

Simply spectacular, and the case too. I could look at those guns every day and never get bored. Thanks for showing them again. No pintos from me but I'd sure like to find an engraved one.

Richard, the model marked one...

The model marked 27 (SN S186811) is the most recent one that I obtained earlier this year. It shows some very pleasant silvering on the high points of the blue from being repeatedly holstered and has a lot of character, without detracting at all from its beauty. Here are a few more detailed photos of that one:

The one that you ran down and graciously sold to me is the 5-screw one - THANK YOU!!! I cherish each of them.

Three, 3-1/2", two-tone Rentzschke engraved revolvers in a custom three gun case. Awesome display! Looks like a treasure chest.

I have always considered revolvers working pieces of art.....well gentlemen your pictures give a whole new meaning to that!!....Well done!!

Here are three Pinto revolvers. The first one is a 44 Military smooth bore, shown with its factory-original birds-eye maple stocks. The choke screws on to the end of the barrel, and BATF has classified the gun as a Curio and Relic, primarily because it was owned by US Congressman Cecil King from Los Angeles. It was shipped Oct 13 1954 to the Congressman.

The next two guns are 3-inch Model 19's, one a round butt and one a square butt. These next two images show the guns together. Both guns have Craig Spiegel boot grips.

The next two images are the factory letter for K622501, the round butt revolver. It has a very interesting history.

The letter notes the thinned trigger guard. The next image is a picture of the trigger guard.

The last two images are the factory letter for K621062, the square butt revolver.

I don't know if this would be considered a pinto or not but it's the closest thing I've got!

Very much qualifies as a pinto in my book and a beautiful one at that. I also love the background S&W in denim.
