Doc and I went over to the 1st "comeback" Kissimmee show at the Heritage Park Livestock pavilion. It was in the "horse auction" building, smallest in the complex. Coming through the gate sign was "$10/parking", oh-oh but they weren't collecting it. Since there were maybe 30 cars total, good thinking. Inside, met the promoters, nice folks. She said they did it last year out by Disney, bad location. Never knew about it, like today, insufficient publicity. Got table information for July show. Inside there were 150 tables with maybe 50 empty. 2 or 3 total 01 FFL's rest were private sale. Great I'm thinking. Prices were so high I was going to ask for a pull of a guy's oxygen tank. $1400 Model 19's, $2300 6" Model 27, and assorted ex-cop K frames starting at $695 for a 10-7 with zero finish and unrecognizable grips, a 15-3 2" for $999 and up. Not many folks toting "for sale" guns so it was played out quick. Doc and I got in a conversation with an old boy I been seeing at the shows for maybe 40 years. He found a spot to park his walker and try to sell the 3 guns he brought. Walking on the thick wood mulch floor caused me to lose balance more than once. Only mildly interesting item was a new Howa 7.62x39 rifle for $599. Looked mighty handy with clean lines. I passed. We were out in maybe 90 minutes. Lunch way way more satisfying. Don't know if'n I'll be back. The downside is we need a show like this to succeed locally to give an option other than the Shoot Straight monopoly. Joe
