Mom used to bake cookies a lot during the holidays. Her snickerdoodles were probably my favorite holiday cookie. Her chocolate chip cookies were great year round. I had a neighbor at a apartment complex where I lived in the '90s who made cookies every Christmas and handed out large coffee cans full of different layers. My favorite of hers was the crescent shaped snowball cookies.

I have managed to only put on a pound so far this season. I REALLY don't need encouragement to eat cookies non stop the rest of the year.

Not A Cookie but A Staple for Christmas treats for my wife's side.
Maple nut clusters
6 oz. milk chocolate chips
12 oz of butterscotch chips
1 can of Spanish peanuts
melt the chips in microwave for 2 minutes stirring halfway after melted add the peanuts to the mixture, drop by the spoonful on a parchment lined cookie sheet let cool and enjoy.
