Tisas 1911

My two cents:

when it comes to a 1911 platform firearm, from the least to most expensive, don't matter, when someone speaks about the weapon's flawless performance, it is all due to the brilliance of John Moses Browning.

To quote someone from another forum from another time:

JM Browning was a gun-designin' god.

I bought this one from my local gun shop in January 2023 for $543. Pretty much every other bobtail I've ever seen has been $1000 or more.

Then I just picked this one up a few days ago, $350 via Gunbroker after taxes, shipping and my dealer's fee.

Both are .45ACP.

As my daddy said, "A fella can go broke saving money."

I’m a 1911 guy and have been for over 50 years. Have had about 20 Colts of assorted mfg’ed years and carry a LW Commander that I customized and is 100% reliable. Guess one could have called me a Colt 1911 snob, even have a Mid Range ( many argue no 1911 shoots 38 Spl.,LOL). My US Army armorer built Colt 1911A-1 is as accurate as any Gold Cup and my Colt conversion kit on my SM lower Series 70 is very accurate. Many have accuracy issues but not mine.
Last year a good friend that shoots with me bought a 1911 Tisas. I shot it at the range and was Sold. Bought one the next week for 1/3 less than a new Colt costs. I picked up a newer Colt 1911 in the blue plastic box 2 years ago in a trade. After attempting to shoot it and after disassembling it , put it back together and traded it off.
Anyway the Tisas has been 100% reliable and have suggested them to new 1911 people.
Oh, BTW I have about 4 times as many S&W’s as Colts…..
