We all, from time to time, hear about bad products, lousy service, etc. But there are still some great companies, people and customer service.
A while back after reading good reviews on this forum about the Tisas 1911 pistols, I purchased, a previously owned but new in the box, Tisas 1911 A1 US Army .45 ACP. I had been looking at this pistol locally for a while until I finally decided to purchase. The pistol was nicely parkerized (or ceracoated to look parkerized) and the box had the extra Check Mate magazine matching the pistol's finish along with the bushing wrench, cleaning tools, manual, etc.
Paid for it, filled out the paperwork and was putting the pistol in its box and noticed that the extra magazine was missing. Clerk checked all around, including pulling magazines from several .45's on display and boxes for those pistols. Couldn't come up with the extra magazine. Said possibly they sold a used gun with no mag and pulled this one to go with it.
No problem, have dealt with this shop quite often and they've always treated me right. I figure I'll just get one off eBay or somewhere. Well, I searched several places and could not come up with a Check Mate magazine in the greenish grey parkerized finish. Finally contacted Tisas USA and asked if I could purchase one in this finish as ones on the web site were either blued or black matte finish. Was told "no problem, have one in my desk as you described and will send it right out". A few days later, the magazine was in my mailbox.
