My less-intelligent brother put a magazine full of .45 through the washing machine. I was wondering if there would be any problems in shooting these bullets after they dried out? I don't see why not, but figure I'll risk asking a stupid question over blowing my hand off.

In my younger days I put many rounds of ammo through various household appliances. I don't ever recall shooting a washing machine but for some reason my favorite to shoot was refrigerators.

Dang. For a second there I was picturing a washing machine on its way to looking like this:

Pitch them, I had a squib load that bulged the barrel on my 1911, we were at a bowling pin shoot and my son did not "feel" the slide not working right. Next shot pushed both out but ruined barrel.

I don't know bout puttin em through the washin machine...But,

I did watch my older brother put five round through the outhouse one time.

Shot both hinges near clean off'n it! ;)

Was it Tide. Era is Chuck Norris approved, so Era would probably be alright. If it's cheapo detergent, the tula will probably fall apart. That's what happens to my cheapo clothes anyway.

I've put ammo through a wash cycle twice - once about twenty years ago, once about a year ago. Both times I fired it and it worked fine (Glaser .38 the first time, Remington .38 WC the second time). If I do it again, I'll fire it at paper targets again.

Jimmy Buffet put six holes in his freezer...:D

Ummm... you DO know it should be "Springfield, right?:p

A box of 50 rounds Tulammo 45 acp listed for $14. Magazine means 8 to 12 rounds and if my poor math skills serve me right it's about $3.50. If you can afford it just dump it.

Indeed, (it was a seven round mag though) I'm honestly not concerned about pitching them, but if I had more than a few attesting to them being fine, no point in throwing away perfectly good ammo
