To wait or not for new M&P 9mm purchase?

I forgot to mention that I am going to my LGS tomorrow and see if they can get a M&P.40 any sooner than the 9. I really like the idea of getting a 9mm barrel for a .40; like having 2 guns in one. Does anyone know how many M&P's are made with thumb safety's vs. non safety's?
Thanks.

I don't see a reason to wait. Whatever shortage you are seeing locally could be cured any day. When that occurs, if you don't have you pistol, you may face a shortage of a pistol with a surplus of ammo. Buy what you can, when you can, when you can afford it.

I found my new FS 9mm at a local Bass Pro shop. They had just received a new shipment of guns the day before. There were only 2 M&P 9's in the whole shipment and I bought one. :D The other is still in the display case, which it won't be for long. Also found and bought the last 2 hi-cap mags at a LGS nearby. It was a great shopping day. :) Now, on to the search for 9mm ammo.

Buy it now I would. 9mm pistols are in short supply in my area. My brother in law looked high and low for a 9mm. And we just happened to find a 9c at a local shop. They had a few fortys but Only 1 9c and a full size m&p 9mm. He came home with the 9c. The same gun I got.

M&P 9

Well now, that was interesting..... I went to LGS today and shot a SR9 to see if I liked it. Then I shot the M&P 9 again and wow, what a difference. The M&P not only fit better in my hand, but it had less recoil and much easier to stay on target. I told them that I would just wait for my M&P that is on order. Hopefully, not a month, though.
