It's that time of year again, National Puppy Day, when we all celebrate our dogs and puppies and hopefully return just a fraction of the love and companionship they give us all their life.

Here are my puppies Annie, Beau, and me, taking a well deserved break during a long walk through the woods earlier this month. Truthfully, I'm the one needing the break, but they did take advantage of the time to get a drink of water from a nearby creek.

Happy National Puppy Day to all of you and your puppies...no matter how old they are.

This one was a puppy nearly 2 years ago. My wife told me I had better start making her do right. I told my wife that she was so intelligent that she would automatically train up as soon as she had a little age on her. I was right. She does everything we tell her. A poodle no less. I wish my pictures would stop flipping when I post them. Oh well.

When we were younger...

In November of 2010, Beau was not quite ten-weeks-old, Annie was almost eight-months-old.

Although Beau now outweighs her by almost fifty pounds, Annie was, and will always be, Top Dog.

The years have gone by so fast. Except for photos, it is hard for me to imagine them ever being this small.

Misty (Dalmatian), Jake (Doberman), Allie & Gus (German Shorthaired Pointers), and Gunner (German Shorthaired Pointer). All but Gunner have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. 1974 - 2018.

We took a prolonged break from 1986-1999 without dogs in the family. As difficult as it is when we lose one the entire puppy to old age journey is priceless.

I like the photographs, but sad at the underlying message with three of them.

Thanks for posting.
