I shoot mine (at 7:00 in this group of .45's), but no one has ever accused me of being exceedingly bright.

I have one in BLUE and most all the other Case Colored guns in the Heritage Series....
Case Color is quite durable...shoot the gun and enjoy it....they were made to shoot. If they are not shooting to point of aim with commercial ammo, the Perf. Ctr . will adjust it.... Mine is incredibly accurate....
I have been looking for that gun in serial#0126, as I have all the other Heritage guns in that number. I bought the Blue one like yours, Model 1917, and shoot the adjustable sight Model 25 because I load some heavy (350gr.)bullets in the .45 Colt. I have a competition Model 25 (45acp) to plink with
here's the Blued 1917....maybe you should get 2?

That's pretty, I have the same problem with a few of the S&W's I have, (shoot or don't) drives me nuts.

Guys, these guns were made to SHOOT.
Take them out and let them give you joy while you can. If you just put them in a safe....sooner or later some one who does not have the same feeling for them that you do will end up with them.
Then they'll be shot or sold and you will have deprived yourself for nothing.
Fine guns are made to shoot and enjoy by those who appreciate them the most.

You should do what some here do and get some pics of the revolver sitting on concrete or even better- on the edge of a table over concrete. Then some pics of the 500 casings you shot through it while it was raining.

Unfortunately, I bought one of the first of the case hardened "Heritage" 1917's when they first hit.
I think I have about 15K rounds through mine.
Oh it shoots like a dream, with a nice set of presentation Herrett Trooper grips on it.
I now wish I hadn't and kept it pristine and sold it and took the money and bought two new ones so I could fill both hands.
All joking aside, it shoots like a dream, and the only problem that I have with it is where the varnish is coming off the high spots around the trigger guard and frame corners. Not that it is a real problem, but it doesn't look as good.
However, I think that is pretty good since I've carried it and shot as much as I have.
It's your gun, enjoy it anyway you wish.
The one thing you are going to need is a better set of grips if you do shoot it much.
Try Herretts. You will likey!!!

Okay, the deed is done. Sorry to those who advocated a nice quiet shelf in my safe, but I couldn't resist.
I had to shoot it.
It is very nice, the big N frame helps soak up the recoil and it seems to shoot fairly close to point of aim.
I couldn't do any real serious testing -- I was outdoors shooting in 20 degree weather! If I can get to an indoor range soon, I'll post a complete report.
