Hi everyone, I did one of those Im a NOOB moments the other day and would like to know your suggestions or comments. I had this overcleaning moment and took out the firing pin & spring for inspection since I was having some misfired and cleaned both the firing pin, spring and firing pin channel with clp. Once I finished I knew I had done something wrong:mad:, anyway, My plan is to clean with Gun cleaning solvent, and Qtip. That should do it right?

Aerosol non chlorinated brake cleaner will dry and clean out the channel.

May I ask a cleaning question too? Why don't my .22 bore brushes fit in my 22 Compact's barrel? I could probably force them in there, but is that the right thing to do?

All my 22 bore brushes are very, very tight fits in all my 22's.

That's been true for the past 60 years.

You'll need to use substantial pressure.

Won't hurt anything.

You may also have some leading - that reduces the inside diameter. Have a look with a light and see if you can see the rifling groves. If not, or if they are inconsistent, the barrel is leading up.

Striker assemblies and striker channels need to be bone dry. The oil can accumulate debris and slow down the speed of the striker causing light primer strikes. I just had that with my MP9c yesterday. I had to clean and wipe down everything and now it's been 100% again. I also had this issue with my Glock 33
