So my interests have stepped away from the AR platform recently and I sold off one of my extras to fund this project. Today I picked up a brand new CZ Scorpion Evo in 9mm.

Initial impressions are that its handy, tolerances are very tight compared to what I was expecting, and that this may be a very fun bug out gun build.

I got this from my local FFL for $830 cash with tax and no card upcharge. I've put a temporary sling on it to get a feel for what it's like to have a pistol like this with a sling. A new sling is in the mail but until then, this gives me a good idea of what to expect. Also added was my Caldwell brass catcher from the AR I sold, which works well since the charging handle is opposite of the ejection port.

I've also ordered 6 (30) rd mags, a buffer adapter, KAK tube, and Shockwave brace to hold me over until I get it SBR'd. If the cheek wield isn't that great I may get the Thorsden eventually. Below is a pic as is and the one below that is a rig with the Shockwave.

Reviews have been good so far and its not picky on ammo from what I read. Does anyone one else on the forum have one or have any experience shooting one?

Nice!

I want one but I'm conflicted about it. I don't want the pistol version. That serves no purpose to me. But to get the SBR I'd have to apply and wait for the stamp, which I also don't feel like doing.

On the other hand I already have a SBR AK which is equal or better than the EVO in just about every way so I really have no need for the EVO. But then I look at it and think....I can use one of those!!!!

Once they were announced I knew I would own one. I even had four 30 round mags waiting for when I bought one. I picked up mine earlier this summer and immediately bought some upgrades. After the upgrades I shot it twice and now it sits in my safe until my form 1 comes back. As a pistol it's big and heavy so I knew I would use it much in the beginning. I also knew I would immediately submit the Form 1 to SBR it.

Things I don't like about it is the right side safety digs into your finger, the grip angle felt weird, and the trigger was rather heavy. I fixed those problems and more with some HB Industries parts and a Yeti grip. From HBI I got the spring kit, flat faced trigger, extended charging handle and the best one a right side AK style safety.
