I was cleaning my Governor last night and noticed something that looks like it might be tool marks or abnormal wear. However, due to the location I think it is probably tool marks. Just wanted to get some opinions. Due to the location it is really hard to get a good photo. This is my first scandium frame so maybe I am being paranoid and looking for something that isn't there. Thanks all.

Completely normal. Bit of over-run of the threads for the barrel. I reckon some few revolvers don't show it, but most do.

Whew! Thank you jaymoore! I am more of an auto guy, my normal carry is either a government or commander 1911, and only here recently started to appreciate revolvers. A little gouge in the metal from a tool wouldn't bother me on an auto, however, I am still learning about revolvers. I have an LCR I bought when they came out with the .357 model. I picked up a 686 plus a few months ago and got the Governor 2 weeks ago. It is my first scandium frame. I guess reading on all the scandium models that blew up made me a little paranoid as to potential weak spots.

I just looked at my 686 and it has one of those marks as well. maybe on my Governor they came out a little further and that's why it has a couple. Thanks for the reply. Lol I'll stop wasting time worrying my gun will blow up and more time shooting and enjoying it!
