I took this shot the same day as the previously posted rattle snake photo. It had finally rained here in southern New Mexico and the box turtles came out to soak up some badly needed water. I moved 5 turtles off the road and moved them to a close cattle pond. They hold water in a bladder which they release when picked up so you hold them away from your pants.
