What part? Near front or rear sites?

Some recommend putting it on the front site but that obviously won't work for some sites, so I'd say as close as possible to the front site. Here is an article from the NRA:

Also, I and a lot of others do not recommend staging the trigger as some do. One continuous stroke straight thru is better. In combat, you could be killed taking the time to stage the trigger so I think it's a bad habit to get into.
