Woooo-Whoooooooo......Finally got my 1948 Pre-17 K22 masterpiece. It is reported to be re-blued and the stocks are not original, but I'm very happy just the same. It has the "High-Speed" hammer and the high-horn magnas with a single line "made in the USA". I'm gonna have fun with this shooter. Should fill the pot on occasion............

Nice one! The late '40s K-22s are extraordinarily appealing revolvers. Congratulations.

I agree that it has been refinished, but all in all it looks like a pretty good job.

That is a very nice revolver, congrats on it's arrival. I have one that shipped on 10-7-48, my birth year but not month. They are fun to shoot and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

I have three days off the end of this week. It WILL get some range time and maybe even work on the stew pot if things permit. I fully intend to use this gun, so I didn't mind that it has been monkeyed with. I just don't appreciate much of the new stuff........I'm 43 years old and am loving stuff my age and older.(Except for my Sweety!!) LOL

Sir: would you share the serial number with all us K-22 fiends. Always interested in where the one liners land in the scheme of things. Thanks.

The serial number is K 10098. I'm thinking I love this thing already..............

Meat getter? Can't you just go to a grocery store? How Far Up North are you exactly? :) Just kidding!

It looks great....sometimes the ones that have been fixed up (and do not have to worry about) are my favorites. It is a classic piece....congrats. I hope you enjoy it for many years.

Your going to love it! I have one from 1947, Ser #85XX that is just too nice to drag out in the woods, so, naturally I had to get a "beater" from 1952,# 1434XX to "suffer" the day to day beatings. Enjoy it,Sir! Kyle

Congrats! I've got a one liner from '48 too. You'll have lots of fun with it!

What is it about a one-liner.....? Must be remnants of my mis-guided youth...LOL

Iowahunter, maybe I'll get my mom to drive from Fostoria to relieve you of the nice gold box........LOL

OUTSTANDING FUN

Well, I got out to a small place to shoot and the pre-17 did a great job!! The previous owner seems to have eyes like mine as I didn't even have to change the sights. What a great handgun! I am very pleased with it and can't wait to fill the fry-pan with it. I had no clue that a 1948 revolver had what seemed to be laser-guided technology. If you can, buy one of these............

They are great revolvers as my pre 17 was made in 1955 and I love it.
