Tow-Behind Spreader

A few weeks ago I remember seeing a thread on tow-behind broadcast spreaders, but I can't find it. I'm thinking of buying one, as I can no longer deal with pushing my standard spreader. Any one remember that thread, or the recommended spreader? Thanks.

Do not know of the thread. However: I have one that I got from Lowe's that I tow behind my John Deere Lawn mower and it works quite well.

Last year I bought an Agri- Fab to tow behind my Cub Cadet, sure speeds up the process. Holds about 125 pounds.

I've been wrestling with the thought of buying one too. Lowe's Deere spreader is $239 and they have an off brand for cheaper too. Mulching with the Deere tractor and the spreader hitched behind would kill two birds with one stone.

Around here the professionals use mostly liquid chemicals on lawns so I would prefer a toe-behind sprayer to a toe-behind spreader. I bought an electric sprayer from Tractor Supply Co to toe behind my Sears Craftman to treat my 1-1/2 acres, and it has worked very well. Lawn service companys were charging $200 per treatment and want to treat my lawn 8 times/year, and I can fertilize and weed-kill my lawn for about $125 a year and the sprayer was only about $350, so it paid for itself the first summer.

They have several models, from light duty up to professional. They are big, heavy duty, have pneumatic tires, and you can get replacement parts.

Thanks for your responses fellers - After much thought and research, I am leaning toward the Earthway Model 2050TP, $92.99 (free shipping) from Amazon. Will let y'all know if/when I get one.

Went back to Lowe's and they had an $80 spreader made for all models of lawn tractors. It looked solid with an easy reach spreader selector. It also came with the pin needed to attach it to the tractor.
