I got this for $9.00 off fleabay and was wondering if anybody is familiar with the markings and maybe had some idea what it would fit . It's not here yet so the pictures are from the auction.

Thanks,
Eddie

The mail lady just dropped it off . You can put a 1911 in it but it for sure don't fit , it fits a 1905 HE .38 perfect except the holster is for a 4" and my HE is a 5" . I don't have a 4" HE or K frame to fit it so I guess it's time to go shopping ! An SA Colt fits but leaves 3/4" of barrel hanging in the breeze. I didn't know Towson holsters were Bucheimer made . Gonna have to have it restitched though , the stitching in the Tg area of the throat is popped .

DAof course! My instinct is that it is very old for a Bucheimer, because of the styling around the mouth including the covered guard. If it were a Heiser it would be early 20th century. Surviving Bucheimers that old are rare :-)

Red,

So $9.00 ain't a bad deal . I really like the covered guard . I need to find someone ( hopefully local ) to re stitch the loose stitching then buy something to fit it . Thanks for the info.:D

My incomplete Bucheimer size chart has two matches for the 45 size stamp, depending on era and holster model.

S&W Revolvers

Mil. & Pol., K Series, Combat
25 = 2"
45 = 4"
55 = 5"
65 = 6"

Colt Revolvers

44 = Colt Official Police, Marshall 4"
45 = Colt Official Police, Marshall 5"
46 = Colt Official Police, Marshall 6"

I believe Doc Barranti would be the go-to guy for this re-stitching.

Thanks Red . It is actually 45 F ( Floral ?) and would not likely take a barrel longer than 4" . My SAA Colt fits it as well as my HE but both have barrels longer than 4" and both hang out the bottom . Gotta be the 4" K frame size .
