While digging around in the upper kitchen cabinets, I came across 14 pint jars of miscellaneous pickled cucumbers, peppers and relish sludge from 2010 - 2012. I flushed the contents down the garbage disposal with LOTS of water. The empty jars are now in the dishwasher. I hope that sludge doesn't eat through the drain pipe!

Was the stuff past the expiration date? I thought "home canned" was good for 30 years. That's what the 'Survival Experts' posted on YouTube -- on Intermet gotta' be true.

We're eating green beans and blackeyed peas from 2015, and they're still fine. Not too sure about the 30 year claims.

I absolutely hate homemade canned food. Dont trust it. Have a great uncle that passed from can green beans.

I’m a Vlasic man myself.

Straight to the trash, do not pass go!
OK ! If you’re out in the country, and you got room to boom,
Throw them up in the air and shoot at them!
Damn, I envy you guys who can do that !
