While digging around in the upper kitchen cabinets, I came across 14 pint jars of miscellaneous pickled cucumbers, peppers and relish sludge from 2010 - 2012. I flushed the contents down the garbage disposal with LOTS of water. The empty jars are now in the dishwasher. I hope that sludge doesn't eat through the drain pipe!

Was the stuff past the expiration date? I thought "home canned" was good for 30 years. That's what the 'Survival Experts' posted on YouTube -- on Intermet gotta' be true.

On second thought, all of the pickled sludge was 'waterbath' canned. The beans and peas were pressure canned. That would make a big difference in the longevity, I'm sure.
