Sunday fun day
For those of you who haven’t seen it
I had a great Sunday morning
Down to the pit
Then believe it or not, I took a 2.3 hour lawnmower ride
My 2 regular tractor/truck guns are both current production smiths
A 3” 8 shot m63 and a 4” 629
The 63 was safely locked in the cab of the 4044R and the 629 got at least 125 rounds through it this morning
So I grabbed my 329 and took it for a ride :D

I’d appreciate hearing about your working/woods guns

Funny you should post this. I just aquired a 686 no dash. I told my son it looked like a bulldozer operator open carried it for twenty years. It was literally the dirtiest gun I’ve ever seen. I cleaned it enough to test fire and I’m very happy with it. Now I’ll break out the Mothers polish. To answer original question I carry a Ruger MKII or 4” 64 out and about in woods, maintaining trails and posted signs.

I carry a KelTec PMR 30. Good for ground squirrels and the occasional feral cat or ring necked dove if they are close enough. Don't expect to encounter a human problem, but don't feel under armed if I do.

I have a friend that lives in Mo who was brush hogging on an 8N Ford tractor with a stainless snake charmer .410 and it fell off and he ran over it and it wasn't worth fixing. Jeff

Read where anther guy dropped his 36 while cutting grass. Ran over it and reduced it's value to about $1.00 (scrap metal price).

In my working years I spent thousands of hours on tractors and a considerable number on small bulldozers. I usually carried a Model 34 but sometimes a 36. I shot often when doing this at various targets of opportunity.

When you first cut a field that's been laying out. Shooting at running field rats
from the tractor seat. is much fun.

I usually have a 686+ 5" on me when working in the woods.

I keep bear spray on the lawn tractor, in the sheds, garage and back porch.

One night I went over to help my neighbor when an old bear got into her goat pen.
She was beating a large black bear on the back with a rake to get it to let go of one of her goats.
I always felt at ease when she was babysitting my children.
