Tractors ??

I am looking at buying a small acreage. It has an optional tractor with front end loader that on it. A 2003 Kubota L2600 looks to be in good shape and has 200 and some hours. Does anybody know anything about these smaller Kubota's and what one like this might be worth?

Can't tell you the app. worth but Kubotas are good tractors IMO and a small tractor w/ loader and mower is essential in maintaining a small acreage.
I've got a brush hog on mine and wish I had a loader. They're so handy in so many ways.
I've seen quite a few guys with similar setups that use the loader as a dozer, which it's not, and consequently end up tearing something up or causing pre-mature wear on the loader.
200 hrs. is not many so depending on condition would determine worth.

Can't go wrong with a Kubota. Not familiar with the L2600 but I think I know which one it is. We have 3 Kubotas, all have different purposes. We have a BX24 which is a miniature backhoe. At 4' wide I can get it anywhere. Great for moving engines, transmissions etc around, take care of the driveway, plant scrubs, bury the family dogs that die, bury stupid deer that get ran over in the road (4 are out next to the barn) and just generally anything that would require a pick and shovel.
The L3130 is my garden and bush hog machine. It is also machine of choice for fluffing and racking in the hay fields, good on fuel. The MX5100 is for bigger stuff. It is used for the hay cutter and baler.
As far as what one of those is worth I don't know. All I ever see of Kubotas in the farmer's bulletin are the great big ones that someone has overbought. You didn't say what he is asking for it, but what I have seen is that they are asking close to what they sold for new. Good luck.

Depends on what they are asking for it. Check prices for used and see if it's a good deal. Used tractors taken care of are no problem. Kabota's are good tractors. Loader is nice to have you can do a lot with it. Make sure there are no hydraulic leaks. 4X would be nice just in case but you could get by with 2 wheel.

Where I live out in the boonies most everyone has some sort of equipment. Kubota has a good rep with everyone I talk with. I see my neighbor down the road on his all the time, I bet he has about 6 attachments for his.

I have a New Holland tractor its 31HP Diesel and it does a lot for me, so glad I bought it 7 years ago though wished I bought it sooner. I have 5 acres and a beach and dock that needs attending, and now at age 69 I find horse power certainly beats human power. The dock section weigh about 450 lbs. x3 and I made up a sling that will put the docks in the water in late spring and pull them out in Oct. ( Reservoir with rapidly dropping water levels)I do not mow with it as the mower would be too big for the 7 or so segmented patches of grass I have, a 30 year old Lawn Boy does that job. I haul firewood in bucket and moved a hill from an area I did not want it to a low spot I wanted filled in. You will find plenty of uses for it

I take care of my 1/4 mile hilly, curvy, gravel driveway with it and use it for certain application for pushing/dumping snow around

OP for you getting some acre ridge a tractor will make your life simpler. Like I said Kubota has a good rep if the price is reasonable I would purchase it.

Can't go wrong with a Kubota. Two hundred hours is practically new. The diesel engine should run 5000 hours with minimal upkeep and regular maintenance. Front-loader is a tremendously useful implement, but as was stated, it ain't a dozer. Light digging, carrying stuff back and forth, some gentle pushing of small saplings, etc. You can destroy the front end of a farm tractor trying to use the front bucket like an industrial loader. That tractor should handle a 5-foot light to medium duty rotary mower (bush hog). Tractors that size are tremendously efficient machines. They will do work all out of proportion to their size and hp.

You can't go wrong on a used Kubota if it has low hours and has been properly stored and maintained and not abused and the price is reasonable. They are desirable so are seldom sold way under value unless the owner is not very bright. Good luck!

I will side with what these guys have told you. I own a 2003 BX22 with a little over 280 hours on it. I have used it quite a bit considering the low hours. I have 4 attachments for it not including the belly mower, loader and backhoe. I mow about 5 acres with it. It is a great machine. I can do a lot of things with it. I would say get the Kubota as it will help you do things more quickly and with a lot less strain on your body.

Don't get a farmall cub. Get a farmall super A it's a stronger tractor.

You need another tractor one can't do it all. Case IH?

I use nothing but international harvester it's in the family DNA for three generations.

I mow with a 1977 L245 Kubota with a 60"deck under it, have had 2 70 H P Kubotas with loaders, the beauty of a loader is if you pile limbs or brush in it you dont have to unload it just dump it, there are many ways to use a loader and I have used them for years and I'm sure there are ways they are used that I dont know about. Get the tractor with the 5 acres. Jeff

I'm building my own loader and backhoe using a international harvester 154 cub lowboy as the platform. I got as far as the front subframe and loader arms and the bucket tacked up. Then I got prostate cancer. I got all the steel for free.

Kubota's are great tractors. I have a 2006 L3400 with about 275 hours on it. It has a loader, and I switch out a 5' bushog and a box blade in the back depending on the season. Bushog is on most of the year, box blade when the grass ain't growing and it's time to get my gravel roads in trim. Mine has the HST (hydrostatic) transmission which is GREAT! The Kubota is SO easy to get around, and the HST is really handy when you are working the loader. By comparison, my other tractor, a 1950 Oliver 66 Row Crop, can keep your feet pretty busy. The Kubota is my 'work' tractor, while the Oliver is for parades and flat-out pulling, such as yanking small locust trees and what-not.

You can't go wrong with Kubota. I have yet to hear about one being a lemon.

I have a Kubota B7500 with a front loader that is indispensible on my 10 acre hobby farm. Only problem I've had the last 10 years was a hydraulic leak. Easy to maintain ,too.

My Kubota is totally bulletproof. The L series are sweet and 200 hours isn't broken in yet. You should research what it's worth, but the tractor is a keeper if the dollars work for you.

I have a BX2350 with the front end loader like new with 200 hrs on it. I love the thing it's a great machine.

I have a 4200 Kubota that has 1100 hours on it. Other than the front axle getting an oil leak I haven't had any problems. I keep it serviced and out of the weather but most of the hours on it have been put on hard. Today is a good example. I don't have a loader but I turned a 7 ft. blade around backwards and pushed small saplings back from the field edge for about 6 hours. This is my 4th day. Larry

I've got the Kobota L2800 with loader, bush hog, disk, and plow. I got it new in 2006, and it has 202 hrs on it. The only problem I've ever had with it was a hydraulic return hose that broke - no big deal, just about five minutes to remove and replace. I overdo it on the oil changes, every 50 hrs, but I know it will live longer than me. The L series tractors are small acreage units, but they don't know it. It is, by far, better than the Fords and John Deere tractors I've had in the past. The stock seat sucks, but Kubota's upgraded seat - with the folding arm rests - is well worth the money. You cannot go wrong with that low hour Kubota!! It's the S&W Model 19 of tractors.

I have a Kubota L3250. I bought it used, and have had it for about 12 years now. It's been a great tractor. If I ever wear it out, I'll likely get another Kubota.

I mow a large yard with it, grade the driveway, make a garden, bushhog, etc. It's about the most useful thing I own.

It hardly uses any diesel fuel. I mow about 6 acres, and I can mow it twice and about half the third time on one tank of fuel, and the tank isn't very big.
