Would like to trade my 17-3 that's in excellent condition for a Browning Hi Power in 9mm. I need a model with the larger sights and extended safety. Blue is fine and I am after the Practical or MKIII as that's the design I'm looking for. Sure there are other models out there with the same sights and safeties. Just not up on the different HP Models.
I am the second owner of the 17-3 and have put EXACTLY 50 rounds through it when I first bought it 4 or 5 years ago. Bought it ANIB from an older gent who rarely shot it but has a S&W collection to die for. Between us it has appx. 100 rounds through it and still looks as handsome as the day it was born. It will shoot as accurately as my 5.5" model 41 target pistol. Have another one that's my rabbit, shooting revolver and this one's been setting in the safe for years. I would rate it as being VG-Excellent condition. It is very accurate and and will make someone a fine collector piece or a darn good rabbit/small game revolver. I do not have the box or papers but do have a beautiful specimen of a -3. Here is a pic of it and I can take more for anyone SERIOUSLY interested. Don't think you will be dissapointed as it has the deep blue finish of old. I'll post more pics after work.
The HP I'm after has the extended safety and the larger fixed sights. Seen them in 2 tone but blue is fine as I stated. Plan on using it for my new IPSC, IDPA and possibly as my carry weapon. Have 3 bone spurs and a pin in my elbow from a compoumd fracture and need a lighter round to pack. Hate to stop packing mt Colt Commander, but a HP is close to the same platform and ammo's much cheaper. Here is a pic I borrowed of the STYLE I'm after. Pistol doesn't need to be a beauty queen or two toned, just not ragged out, reliable and in good working order that will feed JHP's and with the good sights and safety.
