Today I purchased a model 60, so my gun fund is at zero dollars. A friend of mine gave me a tip on a Model 49 at a shop. This bodyguard (no box) in 95% condition for $400.00.

I'm thinking about asking the store about a straight across trade the S&W for a Springfield parkerized loaded.

What do you think? Yes or No.

Hi, do you mean a Springfield Armory 1911-style Loaded version?

I voted "yes, trade it", but I think it would be more appropriate to sell the Loaded (I think you could get about $700 for it) and buy the 49.

The way I usually decide with on-the-fence purchases like this is "is the gun I'm looking at still in production?" If it isn't in production anymore, then I'm more inclined to pick it up. In-production guns I figure I can get anytime (until it goes out of production), but they aren't making the old ones anymore =)

typo sorry... I wrent two publik schewl.

It's a Springfield Armory Loaded Parkerized 1911A1 .45 acp

I think you'd lose on that trade, besides if that shop is like most they'd want your gun + $$, and you'd really be upside down then.

If it were me I'd sell the SA first and then buy the 49.

In most all cases I would let one get away before I'd trade, I much prefer to buy what I want, and sell what I don't, much easier to keep track of that way.
