I like revolvers but I get tired of them real quick and right now I got a offer to trade my 442 for a m&p full size 40 cal with thumb safety. I'm not that crazy about manual safeties but I going to do it anyways what do you fellow smith&wesson lovers think about the trade ?

Two totally different animals. The 442 is an easily concealable defensive weapon that you can slip in your pocket or in your waistband and forget about. The M&P is a full size duty gun that you could carry, but you have to work to conceal it and you sure won't forget it's there like you would the 442. Matter of fact, I bet that is why the owner of the M&P wants to trade. He realizes how impractical the full size gun is for anything other than range gun or nightstand gun.

I would not make that trade.

Financially, you're probably doing ok in that trade, especially if your 442 has an IL. Practically speaking- I have a 442. I don't have an M&P .40. If someone offered that trade, I'd still be in the same situation.

I hate to see the 442 go but I'm honestly no good shooting with it and I have other guns to carry I was just wondering if it was roughly a fair trade. If I decide to get another snubby one day it's gonna be either the 637 or the 638
