[TRAINING AID] Smith 43c VS Charter Arms Pathfinder

Today if looking for a new revolver I would lookto taurus too . OP has a 22lr so no help for him byt Taurus 942 models in 3" and 2" with a retail price between 410 and 430 dollars. I had a 92 thats from the early 90's thats been very reliable over the years .

I am curious about how many here have had the problem of light strikes with their 43c’s?

As a 43c owner with over 1000 rounds thru mine I suspect 2 main things on "light primer strikes"

One- first range trip, people don't read the manual (I didn't. Got it went straight to range) had more light strikes day 1 then every other day after combined. You need to clean the 43c before first range trip, or itll have light strikes. I think spray on ballistol works best. Go heavy, wipe down well, then run snap caps a few times and re wipe.

2nd- ammo. Since switching to federal punch I have only had 1 fail to fire in over 500. With aguila super max I had 1 in 10 FTF. Mini mags are about 3/100 and stingers about 4 or 5/100. The mini mags, and stingers did slightly worse before cleaning. Now that its broken in, cleaned and lubed, and I use only federal punch, I have nearly no failures to fire. The one I did have with punch, I tried to shoot again, and it didnt go bang on 2nd or 3rd strike. It left 3 giant stamps on the case, I am inclined to say thats ln the ammo, not the gun.
