After buying a 645, I have done some searching for other pistols, parts, mags, etc. That led me to discover the 6450.
Today, I found a listing for a 6452.
How many other models are there that S&W made? Were any of them made in significant numbers?

6450 (Interim 1988) -645 frame, boxed marked 6450 (< 150 made)
6450 (Pilot 1988) 4506 frame, boxed marked 6450 (< 300 made)
6450 - 1991, RSR0001-0092 (92 made)
6451 - 1991, RSR0178-0407 (230 made)
6452 - 1991, RSR0408-0547, RSR0558-0619 (202 made)
6453 - early 1990, RSR0093-0177 (85 made)
6454 - early 1990, RSR0548-0557 (10 made)

This place is a wealth of great information. I found a 6452 on that big auction site with an RSR serial number. It got me wondering about how many varieties are out there.

When I was collecting the 3rd gens I had one of each...congratulations on the find!!!

That 6452 sold on the big auction site for $870

I was not the buyer for that one. At those prices, I don't see much of a chance to start a transitional 45 collection.
Congrats to whoever did get it though.
