So I like to watch the original Star Trek series (for the hundredth time), and was curious about one of the shows. In "Tomorrow is Yesterday" (Season 1/Episode 19), the "Enterprise" goes through a time warp and returns to late-1960s Earth. When they are spotted as a UFO, the crew has to beam aboard a USAF pilot and later an Air Police sergeant. There are several scenes in the episode where the Enterprise crew is confronted by Air Policemen (the sergeant, the Colonel, and other Airmen) wearing sidearms. It looks like the APs are carrying 4" bbl. Model 10s with stag stocks. They wear their holsters cross draw, but it appears that the holsters are black leather and made for longer 6" revolvers. My questions are: Are the revolvers actually Model 10s, or some other .38 Spl. revolver? Were they standard issue? Did the USAF AP use stag (or faux stag) stocks on their issued revolvers? How about the long cross draw holsters? Forgive me if this thread has been posted by others, but my inquiring mind wants to know. Thanks.

SAC Air Police used stag grips and cross draw holster. Originally Victory Models then Model 15, all in nickel as I recall.

This topic has been discussed here before and with images, I think.

And if you are referring to the TV show and not real life, the prop masters probably did their best with what they had in stock. Victory Models and .38 M & Ps were easy; USAF issue holsters in the correct length, maybe not. :)

One of my favorite episodes. It explained a lot about why some people see UFO's and there is still no record or proof!!

Yep!

Here's two more images from the Star Trek episode "Shore Leave" including a close up of the revolver.

Is that a gun rug or a Tribble?

Ok, tv… I remember a Twilight Zone or Outer Limits where they had a machine you could stick a punch card into and it would make whatever instructed to… ham sandwich, MAC-10, whatever.

As I recall, the machine was used to make a revolver. Anyone remember the episode?

I was an AF SP in 1986 and carried a Model 15 for my first 2 years or so before transitioning to Berettas. When working gates we had Stag grips in a high ride holster, not cross draw. Different bases had varying Gate Guard uniforms. I'll post a pic of my revolver in a little bit. I'm not sure what the SP's carried prior to the 15's probably victory models or 1911s.
