Been at my sisters place in NY, and for my upcoming birthday present, my eldest daughter took me to her salon for a hair and nails treatment yesterday. Very nice treat.

She calls me this morning and tells me to get dressed nice for a surprise. She's here now with tickets to go see Bette Midler in Hello Dolly at the Shubert theater, just the two of us. What a wonderful surprise. Bette has always been one of my favorite performers and I get to share the experience with my usually very busy daughter. Off to the Big Apple.

What a wonderful evening. Bette was absolutely perfect as Dolly, and the guy who plays Frasier Crane's brother Niles on the TV comedy Frasier, was great as Mr. Vandergelder. Numerous well deserved standing ovations, and my daughter and I both had tears of joy at the end.

raljr1, Easy mistake to make since we're practically twins, but Bette's a bit younger, and she's probably had some work done, if ya know what I mean.
