Trifocals and a Scope

When I shoot in competition I use bifocals instead of trifocals. I had mine made at Walmart, asked for the lower lens to be dropped a tiny bit.I do not use progressive lenses. After shooting, I take off the bifocals and put on reading glasses when I collect my gear.

Sucks getting old.

I have progressives and leave them on at all times, and adjust the ocular lens of my scopes accordingly. I live in the boonies and shoot (multiple times a week) from a bench and offhand when hunting/plinking. Sometimes these "shooting incidents" are rather spontaneous, like when certain known damage causing varmints pop into view on my property. I would go crazy playing "eye glass" roulette.

I have zero trouble adjusting my scopes for perfectly clear vision with my progressives. Your mileage may vary.

I use progressives. My spotting scope adjusts just fine with the glasses on. I do this mainly to avoid forgetting them when I take them off.

When I remove my tri's I think I am in a swimming pool. I need my glasses for everything. Weaver K's and Leupold M8's and Varix 11's focus just fine thru them. I even have a Bob Jones lens in my rear sight hood on the M1A. It helps clarify the front sight so near.

I have progressives but I set them aside at the range. I had a pair of intermediate distance shooting glasses made with my reading prescription added at the bottom for loading magazines, adjusting things, etc. That portion is out of the way when I’m shooting. Decot Hy-Wyd: nice people to work with.

I leave the trifocals on for scopes or red dots.
I have 'occupational' lens glasses that I use for iron sight pistols, the computer, or working above my nose level. The intermediate portion of the lens is higher and larger.
Iron sighted rifle is a no-go.

I did wear trifocals. Shot scope, red dot and shotguns(skeet trap sporting with them. For action pistol I had a set of glasses made with distance lens in my left eye, right eye focused for my front sight. This worked very well. I could actually focus on the sight and the target was in focus. I would forget I had them on sometimes til I started driving home.
