I am a new member. I have two S&W rifles. One is an older model 1500 .270 bolt action. Can anyone tell me if I can adjust the trigger? If not, what is a good trigger to replace it.

The Timney trigger is the way to go. Put one in my Weatherby Vanguard and have a nice 3.5 lb. creep free trigger pull. The factory trigger is just serviceable and that's being charitable. It is not a good candidate for weight reduction below a little over 4.5 lbs. in my gun anyway. My gun is a stainless .30-06 with black classic profile synthetic stock. Got the blued trigger as a seasonal close-out at a good price from Midway. The installation and adjustment was a breeze.
