Well since the trigger seems to be a popular talking subject, I'd like to ask for those folks here who have taken their sigma apart to weigh in on its composition. I realize this is probably subjective unless someone finds a way to measure this. What are the various components that add up to the approximately 10 lbs trigger pull? For example : compressing striker spring is 5 lbs (50%)
Inner sear spring 1 lbs (10%)
Outter sear spring .5 lbs (5%)
Pigtail spring .5 lbs (5%)
Friction in sear assembly .25 lbs (3%)
Friction in lever to poly frame .25 lbs (3%)
Other 2.5 lbs (25%)

These numbers are not representative but reflect the logic of what I'm asking. I'm sure there are other obvious contributors that I left off. This would help us figure out where we might go and what is (or isn't) worth our time. Anyway just intersted if anyone else cares?

I can say this - When Frank Smith polished my Sigma and changed out the striker spring, it came back to me considerably less demanding. Very smooth, and around 7lb of pull (By feel). When I removed the pigtail spring and changed the outer spring, it reduced that pull another 1-2lbs. I do not have a trigger scale, but I'd love to measure it. Feels like another gun all together. I've put 200 rounds through it after the work with zero issues. I'd love to figure out how to shorten the pull and I'd be 100% satisfied. Hopefully someone can answer the question that you ask and we can figure that part out.

Almost all of it is in the striker spring, sear springs and the basic function of the sear it's self concerning the loaded cam action.

As far as the trigger travel. If you know what your doing you can take half of the rearward free play out of the trigger. If you don't have a good face to face meet between the sear and striker you can get a few thousandths there and a cleaner break with a jig and a very good stone. Shortening trigger travel anymore will require a new transfer bar. This really no big deal. I just need to get off my dead butt and build one.
