Has anyone else had a problem with the pin that holds the trigger in place coming loose? It is a bit of a chore to reinstall it ( getting the trigger spring over the pin as it is inserted ). It has a notch to lock in place. but it still seems loose?

Had that problem after I put the apex kit in. Pin kept walking after shooting a mag. Thought I had it all the way back in(flush) but needed just 1 more tap to seat correctly. You can hear the click when you tap it in from the left side and it's correctly seated.

I figured it out

The pin was installed with the notch installed on the right side instead of the left. When the pin was inserted properly it snapped into place as the slide latch is spring loaded and is what will snap into the notch. I also found an IPB of the pistol that clearly shows the pin with the notch to the left as inserted.

even witrh inserted correctly mine walked sometimes. i also have thousands of rounds through. clear nail polish worked well as suggested by a member here. dajogejr

Yeah, that happened to me to. As I was sighting in, I noticed it had drifted out a bit to the left side. I just pushed it in with my finger. Seemed to easy. Clear finger nail polish coming up, if she has some clear. Thanks.

I had a similar problem with my MR15 first day at the range the rear trigger pin almost fell out I managed to push it back and it never came loose again

I said...as long as it's not YOUR Clear nail polish... LOL. :)

Just passed what someone else here told me...so I can't take credit. I used clear nail epoxy. After a good cleaning, probably not a bad idea to reapply and let dry. I'm sure it's not impervious to gun solvents.

I even got a new trigger pin and slide lock release. Seemed to happen about 130 or so rounds down range.
When the pin is inserted correctly, you'll hear/feel it snap.

Never happened on my girls old SD9VE...but to be honest, she probably never put more than 100 down range in any one day session.

pfft all my nail polish is BRIGHT PINK

The slide lock fits into the grove on the left side of the pin, and holds it in place... in the Glock (the SD is a fairly close copy of the Glock) the trigger pin has a grove in the center for the spring, which keeps it centered.

I was thinking about putting the pin in a drill and rotating it with a file held at the center, creating a very shallow groove that would locate the spring and keep it there, thus holding the pin in place. I may do that if mine walks out... I might also order a Glock trigger pin and test the statement that "many parts from the Glock are interchangeable with the SD, which is derived from the Sigma, which is a copy of the Glock..."

Happpend to me on my SD40, sent it back to S&W they fixed it. Since I got it back I have put about 200 rounds through it and so far so good.
