trigger difference newer model?

I've read many complaints of the 15-22 trigger on here and other forums.

I just picked up a 15-22 (Base model) a week ago. The trigger breaks easily and does not need to be pulled back much at all (is this the bad "creep" people speak off?)

Is there any difference in the trigger on newer model 15-22? I do not find it as terrible as everyone says it is..

Any thoughts?
 
also, this is my first AR style gun.. are the aftermarket triggers just that much better?
 
I bought a 15-22 a couple months ago. I'm happy with the trigger on mine and see no need to change it.

I personally don't have an issue with the trigger. Than again, I'm used to the sloppy triggers on Army issue M16s and M4s, so I probably haven't been spoiled by good ones yet.
 
The factory 15-22 trigger isnt "bad" at all... As with any trigger the more you use it the smoother it gets... So get 10,000 rounds of ammo and get to smoothing!
 
I personally think the stock 15-22 trigger on my MOE is fine. It has no discernible creep, to me. It is a bit heavier than I'd like (in a pistol, at least, which is what I'm used to), but I don't think I'd shoot much better with a lighter trigger, and I'd rather buy $200 worth of ammo than put a new trigger on it.

If I had wanted a target rifle, I wouldn't have bought the 15-22 in the first place, I'd have bought a decent bolt action rifle.
 
There is a difference with stock trigger and a drop in or modified. It's one of those things of if you've not **** with a upgraded trigger you don't know type things. Mine is still stock for the most part, I did polish the sear. Try someone's that has been modified then see if it's worth it to you.
 
I love my trigger so much that I have taken to sleeping with the rifle in my bed with me.:D
 
thanks, i was reading a lot of posts on how this was the worst trigger ever made and was about to buy a new one. However, I don't really see any need to change it, mine feels fine!

No one has posted how much they paid for their triger mods and what all they had done......I wonder why??
 
actually ive seen a lot of people post their pricing as well as state they've used them on multiple rifles. a good trigger is easily 1 of the top 3 mods i would think for any rifle, as well as a barrel and optics.
 
It all depends upon how much experience one has with other firearms and how picky you are.

If you have never shot another firearm, you don't know whether the trigger is good or bad because you have no frame of reference.

If you are happy with the performance you are getting, then that's fine. If you have experience with other firearms, especially those with good triggers, it's up to you to decided if the 15-22's trigger is acceptable to you.

For me, it wasn't, so I replaced it with a Jard adjustable 2.5 pound trigger with zero creep and zero backlash. It was, to me, well worth the $150 and the 30 minutes spend installing and adjusting it.

It's a case of whatever makes YOU happy!

You don't pay attention to what you read, do you Dan? :)

Most threads on replacement triggers have discussions of cost. I've said on several occasions my Jard was $150. They are probably the cheaper of the after-market triggers.

Others go for $200-$300 and the Gissele trigger are anywhere from $250-$400. The folks who buy them are not reluctant (as you seem to think) to say what they cost and what the cost-to-benefit ratio was to them.

No matter what you say, my trigger is sufficient for my tack driving needs.

i've shot other handguns and rifles. I put a 3.5 trigger in my glock. I would not consider myself an expert by any means though.. I'm just asking if newer 15-22s possibly have the issue fixed?

I hardly pull my trigger and it goes off. I just don't see how HORRIBLE everything is making it seem?

Maybe i am lucky and just got a decent trigger?

It seems the quality of the FCG is not constant, but varies considerably.

That's possible. Mine was 5.5 lbs with over 1/8" of rough trigger movement and the same amount of overtravel. Polishing and the infamous JP yellow springs brought it down to a somewhat smooth creep and 4.5 lbs. Others have reported trigger pulls of 7 lbs - totally unacceptable, IMHO. Then again, my Remington 700 Mountain Rifle came with an 8.5 lb trigger.

Those are cheaper than I thought.
 
I like my 15-22 with the yellow springs, moly coated FCG, and the dangerous set screw mod. Lets off at 4 lbs clean every time. 9000+ rounds without a problem.

Cost....$less than 20.

Hobie...btw I own a Les Baer, and a Clark modified MK11 that I shot comp. with and their triggers are crisp.

Did you do the moly-coat yourself?

My Clark-modified MKII (mid-80s production) breaks at 20 ozs. It's a pleasure to shoot, needless to say. :)

not sure if you've ever posted it before, but as someone with 4 of their triggers - how would you describe the differences between them?

Still working on the bushy but as for the other 3...

All there triggers are superb... Both the SSA and SD-C are supposed to be the same pull weight but the SD-C seems to be lighter...might be the flat trigger or in my head...dont know... The SD3G is my favorite... Still working on my trigger speed but man are mag dumps fun... Very short reset... Feels like your only moving your finger an 1/8th inch or so to reset... Ill try to measure it tommorrow... If you were to get one for your 15-22 id go with the SD3G
