Checked out some red-dot optics today, considering one for the 460V, and it seems they'll do nicely for my aging eyes. Cost isn't an issue, but I'm concerned about durability. I like that the Trijicon doesn't need batteries, and it has a mount for X-frame revolvers. Has anyone used it, and can discuss the pros and cons?

My second option appears to be the Leupold Deltapoint.

Any experienced advice would be appreciated.

I've had both. I used the Trijicon on my duty gun for a while. The only reason I stopped was because I didn't have a good holster for the gun/RMR combo.

For serious work I'd go with the RMR. I'd go with the green triangle or dot before I went with the Amber. They weren't available when I bought mine. The Amber would wash out in low light with a WML activated.

Thanks for the response.

'Red dots' are something I've had no experience with, so I appreciate any guidance I can get.
