Trouble loading Shield mag

I can't make the UpLula work on my M&P 9 mags. When I insert the mag into the UpLula the "finger" hits about 1/2" below the upper edge of the mag. Anyone else having this problem or am I doing something wrong?

Ok, I'm a dummy. I thought you seated the mag into the UpLula and then just squeezed. I finally found a video on YouTube and realized you have to actually slide the loader up and down while squeezing. Now I know how it works.

I bought a HKS 940 loader before I ordered the UpLula and the HKS works though now as easily as the UpLula. I am now a happier camper.

Congralations! You've just earned one more "like". :D

While stiff, I didn't have issues loading my shield mags... But the fiance loves her upula, and uses it on every semi we have.

I can now get the last round in if I have to but please don't take away my loader. Don

I have no problems loading mine, but as my wife keeps saying, "You are not a normal Jarhead." My range rents for the day so we take our time and shoot all day. I have never had a issue loading the mag. Wife has gotten use to it and loads a mag faster than me. My SD9 was a PITA to load but I got used to it also.

Going to shoot my Shield for the first time tomorrow, so I'm loading the mags tonight. But...this is not any easy task! Is there some trick to this or am I just too weak/uncoordinated/stupid to accomplish this? My thumbs are killing me and I'm not 1/2 finished . I'm definitely a noob, but this doesn't seem like it should be so difficult. Thanks!

Uplula all the way. At least you're trying this the night before. I learned the hard way at the range out of the box. My hands were so weak when I went to manually rerack for a reload, the slide did not go all the way, and was out of battery multiple times.

Purchased the Shield 9mm back in January and had no trouble loading either 7 or 8 round mags. My wife bought a Shield 9 in February and I had no trouble loading hers either although she did and ended up with the Uplula. Even with her using the Uplula I can still load a mag faster than her. I was starting to think most of you guys were a bunch of pansies here until I recently bought 2 new 8 round mags. Getting the last two rounds in either of the new mags is almost impossible without the Uplula. Apparently there can be a huge difference from one batch to the next. Right now both are sitting loaded in the safe to see if they will loosen up a little.

They will loosen up I now have to only fight with the last round. I can get it but not as fast as with the Uplula.

Boy! It's def not easy! I about pooped my pants straining to get the 7th round into the second clip that came with the new Shield! I left the gun in my car
so I've gotta go check to see if I got all 8? rounds in that clip. Might try the Uplula but $40 bucks is pretty steep. I did put the clip on my kitchen counter to provide positive resistance and that helped a lot! Plus I became one with the clip and used Zen like mental toughness to get 'er done!

Go to Amazon. I bought mine for $29.18 with free shipping.

Well, I'm married so you know my hand strength is where it needs to be and I had difficulty with the mags on the first few times shooting that I went and got an UpLula. Other people I shoot with actually use mine.

Here we are well over a year and I'm going to speculate 1000 rounds later and I sometimes forget to use it and load by hand. The springs have loosened up that much.

I will say that unless I'm loading for defense I usually only load 5 rounds for target practice. I'll fill the mags up if I'm doing speed shots to see how fast I can empty a mag, just because those are fun.

Why the heck doesn't Smith&Wesson or someone make a clip loader for the MP9 Shield that can be used in your hands without having to push it down on a table or whatever is avaiable?

Never had this much trouble loading ANY mag. Initially I thought the followers were frozen inside the mag. when I realized they weren't I decided that S&W had somehow figured out how to manufacture miniature Ford Model A leaf springs and fit them into Shield magazines.

After 20 minutes I got the seven-round mag loaded. Then I came into the house from my garage workshop, fired up the computer, and ordered an Uplula.

I hate when I get to the range and find I left my Uplula at home. At least mine are getting to the point I can get the last round in with out it but it is not fun. Don
