Hi everyone!
I’ve just purchased a much anticipated little device to help a lefty improve my speed during 2 gun and 3 gun matches with my Smith and Wesson M&P 1522 rifle.
However the problem I have with the Troy Ambi Mag release which I soon realized was that the recess where the catch sits on the 1522 is far too deep for the mag to hold when installed. To my surprise I have found nowhere online with other people experiencing this problem.
In my limited practical experience the only way to make this work is to chisel out some materiel exactly where the button levers from on the side of the mag-well just below the catch.
However before I attempt to potentially ruin my gun I’m looking for some advice.
BTW Troy's email response to this query was: "Thank you for your email, in regards to your question. Unfortunately we do not offer an AMBI Mag release for the weapon in question. Unfortunately we do not have this weapon in house for testing.
Thank you,
Customer Service / Technical Support"
However there is nothing to say that on any of the sites selling this product and as far as I was concerned the 1522 was replicating an AR15 in every way...
Your thoughts would be kindly appreciated.
