Just got a Troy MRF-308 battlerail. Removed the S&W stuff -- I removed the Troy lower barrel clamp and screws -- but how do I get the barrel nut out. The rail came with the Troy nut in rail with the lower barrel clamp attached. Nothing in the instructions give me a hint. I got the DPMS low profile model and the Troy nut fits the threads but it would be easier if it was out of the rail to do the installation.

Thanks

I don't know if its the same, but the TRX rail came with the nut inside and you just had to use a barrel wrench to turn it about 1/8 inch and it dropped out. It works in reverse when you install the nut, the rail went on and then you turned it to lock in prior to tightening the bottom screws.

MRF barrel nut

Heard from Troy early this morning--just got home and tried it. Seems you move the lower half of the quad rail forward and the barrel nut becomes (falls out) available.

Glad for the quick response from Troy but I think it should be in the instructions.
