This is probably the best or at least one of the best auto pistols that I have ever owned. The only thing I would like to do, if I can is replace the ambi safety with a left side safety.

That's what he told me this was, I don't know if that is right or not. I do know that it was a little over 17 bills, I could've done better on the internet, but I like to deal locally when I can. I will say this at great risk, it out performs the DW VBOB that cost just as much as this one and then cost me close to another 400 to get it to run right.

Nice looking gun, from what I can see. It has been years since I looked at a Springfield so this may sound like a ridiculous question (not meant to be) - are they still using 2-piece barrels? At that price, I am assuming it is meant to compete with Les Baer's similar gun. Have you shot it for accuracy yet? Good trigger? Inquiring minds want to know!

One piece barrel, very smooth and light trigger, I would say 3-3.5 lbs. And from just putting it through it's paces I would say extreemly accurate, I have not put it on paper but we were shooting golf balls in the back yard. I am taking it out again today just to put more rounds through it. I like to run at least 300 through a new gun. And yes, the fit is very tight, I would say as close to hand made as you can get.

I picked one up a couple months ago - of my 5 or 6 1911's, it is the most accurate and tightest. I replaced the 2 piece GR with a Wilson Combat. It has been perfect.

I don't care much for the cheesy "tactical" mark tho:

The FBI model is the Professional, made completely in the custom shop with a near 24 month waiting period. SA pistols with a rail are designated "Operator", in which the Pro op is the same as the Pro, only with a rail.

The TRP is a production pistol with features similar to the Pro, while it is their top of the line production pistol, it is not built the same as a Pro.

The TRP Operator comes with a rail, bull barrel, and adjustable sights.

I hope to own a TRP in Armory Kote within the next few years.

The TRP would be 99% perfect without the stupid "tactical" roll mark, it irritates me beyond belief. I would also prefer no FCS, however, I can live with those and they don't really bother me.

My buddy let me shoot his TRP Operator a few years ago. Its accuracy made me look good on the range.

Yep not a fan of the verbage on the gun, I don't even like the serations on the front of the slide, but I do love this gun. No buyers remorse here.
