True Blue - 357 Magnum 158 gr cast SWC

Ed, I find that my 98.85436% max load is more accurate…what the heck are you saying up there…must be that Reno smog (Gavin’s fires have dissipated so it can’t be that)!

You’re such the hot rodder, let’s keep the A Bomb tests* near Vegas, not around here, be careful

* for those who don’t know, more of these tests were conducted in this part of Nevada than anywhere else, the real big stuff were denoted out at remote Pacific islands. There hasn’t been above ground US tests in 60 yrs+.

Im sorry and I kniw this is a somewhat aged thread but Ive been going back looking for your work on the 38spl FBI load and found this one which ti me is more about the powder, TrueBlue, than the cartridge. I have found this to be one of the best powders I have on the shelf, and as Ive read through it this thread just reaffirms my thought because several folks mention their satisfaction with it in calibers they reload that I dont own. Personally Ive used it with great satisfaction in 9mm, 10mm, 357mag and 38spl, 44spl and 44mag and adding in those mentioned by others just adds up to one fantastic powder.
You say your ES was what, 40 or so? Ive never had an ES above 30 and that was an outlier because mine, with TrueBlue are usually closer to 15 or 20. Ive even had them in single digits. Does this mean Im getting better at this reloading thing or is this powder just this good?
Im not disparaging you in the slightest just saying the luck Ive had with this powder. I always look forward to, and enjoy reading your work as its always enjoyable and informative.

I just looked up some of my 686 6" data with my Blue dot powder.

On 10/6/2014 in a 38 case and 7.5 grs of blue dot with a 158 Lwc
my 6" barrel showed 1124fps.

In a 357 case a good load of Blue dot did 1276fps.

I have yet to try True Blue powder.
