True surplus ammo cans?

Does anyone have a good source for true military 50 cal. ammo cans? I'm not interested in Chinese copies. I have worked my way through a pallet load I bought a long time ago. I have done an internet search and several places have shown up but I don't recognize any of the sources anymore.

Bought several a few months ago at (of all places) Harbor Freight. They are of surprisingly good quality and they were made in…Vietnam!

Shipping on them is usually prohibitive, it's been cheaper for me to just buy the real deal at local surplus stores

I can't imagine working your way through a pallet, I have a dozen or so. This is a bit off topic, but I went to a guy's house and was blown away when he showed me his ammunition storage. He has a false floor in his basement gun/reloading room that is basically wall to wall 50 cal ammo boxes with an overlay of 3/4" plywood and low pile outdoor carpet...you would never know, its genius. Because of the way the carpet is layed out in 3ft. "tiles" it's easy to lift a section of flooring to get at the ammo. He doesn't keep his day-to-day stuff under there, just his hoarded stockpile...this guy has some ammo squirrelled away.

I echo Kenna's recommendation. I bought 50 cal surplus cans from SG Ammo in the past and was well-pleased. I use cans to store bullets for reloading. A 50 cal can full of bullets it about all I want to handle; anything bigger is too heavy. Each can has a number that maps to my components spreadsheet. I call it detail oriented, other people call it . . . . never mind.

Their metal, close well, and have good seals. My ammo can't tell where they were made.

I bought several from Midway in the past too. Some had to be cleaned up and painted OD again, but they look great now.

Stacking cans in a safe? You'll always need one from the bottom.
Remove the shelves, but of course save them. Yes, it can be done.

I mentioned Midway above. For giggles, I put some cans in my shopping cart and the shipping cost was "unacceptable." An old trick with those guys is to add free shipping items. I did and it reduced the total shipping cost to about half. Yeah it depends on what you add and you should "need" the free shipping stuff. Wouldn't want to get into the "look how much I saved at the sale" situation. Still $15 for 50 cal surplus ammo cans is about as good a price you'll find these days.

I needed some cans recently, so I went shopping online. Shipping was, of course, spendy. However, the local hardware store had them for $15 on sale. Cheaper than I could find online. I got a dozen. May have to get more. Keep finding more ammo.

I only buy the USGI issued cans . My cans were submerged during the flood and were bone dry inside when I opened them later . That's quality .

Needed a few to finish a project, and they were on sale at Bass Pro. They served me well. Brand new milspec 50 cal cans. M2A1 S.C.F.
I guess Cabelas may sell them also.
